L-DS was retained to perform the programming, design and construction related services: schematic design, design development, construction documentation and construction administration for the Twelve Oaks Hospital Ambulatory Surgical Center.
The space allocated for the facility was in an existing medical office building in the vicinity of Twelve Oaks Hospital. The challenge for the team was to accommodate the needs of the operating rooms in a space with vertical clearance of 13 feet.
This 8,000 SF facility consisted of four operating rooms, five pre-op areas, five post-op areas, patient waiting area, staff office space, clean room, decontamination area, pharmacy area and nurse station. The project improvements included state of the art medical operating room equipment that required the consultants to design special structural supports within the ceiling cavity.
