Texas Southern University (TSU) demolished the previous Leonard N. O. Spearman Technology Building, due to not only to damages sustained from Hurricane Ike but also because of the age and condition of the facility.
The Technology Building replacement is a 100,000 SF, four-story, state-of-the-art facility. It includes a 25,000 SF mechanical penthouse and a 100-foot transmitting tower for the university’s radio station.
Adjacent to the building is a one-story, high bay industrial building to house laboratories, simulators, and other training equipment.
